The Anritsu MS464XX VectorStar™ and ShockLine™ VNAs have a number of measurement utilities to facilitate this kind of analysis and, coupled with the MN4765B O/E calibration module (for 850, 1060, 1310 and 1550 nm measurements with up to 40 GHz (for 850 and 1060 nm), 70 GHz (for 1310 or 1550 nm) or 110 GHz (1550 nm) of bandwidth) or some other calibration device, some level of measurement traceability is possible. This application note will discuss some of the measurements of interest, setup considerations, possible measurement performance, and examples of measurement procedures.
