Experiments with dusty plasmas, also known as complex plasmas, have exploited reduced-gravity conditions since 1999 [1]. Many fundamental physics experiments have been conducted since then, not only in space but also in ground-based reduced-gravity facilities. A dusty plasma is a mixture of micron- to nano-sized solid particles, rarefied gas, electrons, and ions. Unlike colloidal suspensions, for example, this mixture provides no buoyant force to offset gravity in Earth-based experiments.
