This technical note describes and evaluates strategies for testing cylindrical components, using a Zygo interferometer with standard Zygo interferometer accessories. The analysis and discussion are directed towards measurement of surface irregularity of concave mirrors and wavefront irregularity or positive lenses. Test geometry, data interpretation, alignment and analysis are discussed in each case.
