The Polished Homogeneity Application (PHom.app) was developed to acquire data on phase shifting instruments. However, it is possible to load static fringe data into the application and successfully calculate results. Care must be taken when acquiring and analyzing the data, and this Tech Note provides guidelines for making measurements correctly as well as suggestions for improving the accuracy of the PHom results. Two different applications are required—the first one is used to acquire and process the four individual data sets. The second application, PHom.app, is used to calculate the final homogeneity results.
