CMOS linear image sensors are used for applications including spectrometers, distance measurement, and machine vision cameras (dimension measurement, foreign object inspection). Hamamatsu CMOS linear image sensors are sensitive to non-visible light (ultraviolet, near infrared) as well as visible light, so they are commonly used in measurement and inspection that require detection of non-visible light. We also support products that have characteristics suitable for spectroscopic measurement, including high sensitivity in the ultraviolet region, sensitivity in the vacuum ultraviolet region, and smooth spectral response in the whole wavelength range. CMOS image sensors are devices that convert optical information into an electrical signal. They have a photosensitive area, charge detection section, and readout section.
