In this application note we describe a simple, plug-and-play, real-world setup that utilizes a Hamamatsu S13615-1050N-08 SiPM array in combination with standard, off-the-shelf equipment from Vertilon. The equipment is configured to continuously capture and measure quasi-randomly arriving, low-level, short duration optical events. The SiPM array is mounted to a Vertilon SIB1064 sensor interface board that is in turn connected to a Vertilon PhotoniQ IQSP582 charge integrating, 64 channel data acquisition system (DAQ).
