The CT440 is a passive component tester that works in conjunction with a sweeping tunable laser to perform insertion loss (IL) measurements. Up to 4 tunable lasers can be connected to the CT440’s laser inputs to perform measurements over a wider wavelength range. The built-in detectors allow to characterize simultaneously several channels of a device under test (DUT) in a single sweep. The figure below shows a typical insertion loss configuration where one tunable laser is used.
