Cloud-based applications are everywhere. According to the latest Cisco Visual Networking Index survey1, 8.5 billion connected devices are currently being used, a number that will grow to 11.5 billion in 2020, and which includes machine-to-machine (M2M) Internet of Things (IoT) modules.
