The Cisco IOS IP SLA agent is a feature of Cisco IOS Version 12 that provides a software agent for the testing of network and application performance. By using EXFO Service Assurance’s solutions to manage a network of Cisco IOS IP SLA agents, providers and enterprises can turn CPE routers, such as the Cisco 2600 or 3600, into platforms for end-to-end service testing of network latency, packet loss and performance of web-based applications. Cisco routers provide an installed base of customer-edge equipment that can be leveraged to quickly deploy an end-to-end service assurance solution. With Cisco and EXFO Service Assurance, network operators can now accelerate their offering of basic guaranteed services by improving customer service and reducing customer churn through proactive service-level management and real-time performance reports.
