Siicon photodiodes are the workhorses for photon detection in the 200-1100 nm spectral region. The most demanding application of silicon photodiodes is high precision and high accuracy radiometric measurements. Despite the importance of a high, stable quantum efficiency to applications of this nature, there is very little information in the literature on the stability of the quantum efficiency of silicon photodiodes.
