The introduction of laser emission safety regulations will necessitate simple instrumentation for user monitoring and regulatory purposes. These instruments must be capable of being accurately calibrated and maintaining their calibrations over long periods and a fairly wide temperature range. This performance must be achieved within the optical transducer.
