The MKS Programmable Automation Platform, incorporating the MKS PAC 100 Controller and MKS I/O modules is a modular, scalable, and configurable total automation and control solution that merges the features of Programmable Logic Controllers with Industrial Personal Computers to produce a flexible hardware controller for a variety of different kinds of instrumentation. The PAC 100 controller resides as a slave on a communications network where, in combination with MKS I/O modules, it monitors and controls different MKS sensing and control subsystems. It supports Modbus TCP/IP and EtherCAT fieldbus communication protocols and uses a Modbus I/O map to seamlessly interface the MKS subsystems that are physically connected to the PAC 100.
