The Repsol Puertollano Industrial Complex has a crude oil distillation capacity of 7.5 million tonnes per year, with a conversion plant to petroleum coke, and an Olefins unit. The Puertollano refinery is technically the most complex of all the Spanish refineries, due to both the product variety and the integration of the units. The energy system is based around eight steam pressure levels, with eight fired boilers producing medium pressure steam, two cogeneration plants producing steam and electricity, and also a set of boilers and furnaces producing high pressure steam.
