When natural gas is depleted, wells may refi ll with fl uid from the surrounding strata due to shifts in geological formations and temperature changes, causing the pressure to rise. This can lead to accidents such as gas leaks and explosions, highlighting the crucial importance of proper pressure management. Therefore, it was traditionally necessary to visually check the pressure gauge attached to the wellhead equipment and operate the valve to manage the pressure. However, wells on offshore platforms are typically reached by a dedicated workboat or helicopter, which increases monitoring costs. In addition, depending on the weather, it may not be possible to reach sites.
