Prof. Melanie Bailey and her group at the University of Surrey, UK, have used Yokogawa’s Single Cellome™ System SS2000 to enable single-cell LC/MS analysis from living cells, a technique that had been a challenge to achieve. By combining the highly accurate and gentle cell sampling technique of the SS2000 with liquid chromatography mass spectrometry technology, a revolutionary method for lipidomics analysis from ultra-low volume samples from living cell cultures was established.
