Many Optical Zonu systems incorpora+ng photodiode receiver systems provide a voltage monitor that indicates the optical power of the received signal. The level of the voltage monitor directly indicates the power of the optical signal. This monitor is provided as a pin on either a DB9 or a DB25 connector. This applica+on note provides informa+on on a change in the reference scale and provides possible solu+ons for rec+fying this change in exis+ng systems.
