Decreased Vitrectomy cutter gauge size and faster guillotine cut rates can reduce tractional forces and pulsatile motion in the cutter’s sphere of influence. Bevel-tip vitrectomy cutters allow dissection closer to the retinal surface as well as reduce the sphere of influence near the cutter tip when compared to flat-tip cutters.
