EXPOSURE OF THE EYE TO ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT.
It is important to block UV light rays from reaching the eye, using protective measures such as UV- blocking contact lenses, UV-blocking intraocular lenses, wrap-around sunglasses and hats. The sun emits a wide spectrum of visible and invisible wavelengths of light. Ultraviolet (UV) radiation includes a range of wavelengths from approximately 100–400 nm and are invisible to the human eye.
