ML Series: Acousto-Optic Mode Lockers

The ML Series comprises high-performance fused silica Acousto-Optic Mode Lockers designed for stable laser operation at 1064 nm. By repetitively modulating intracavity losses at laser resonance frequencies, these devices provide dependable synchronization and precise mode-locking. Operating within an RF frequency range of 20 MHz to 70 MHz, the ML Series delivers consistent performance supported by a typical RF drive power of 2 W, ensuring strong acoustic excitation and reliable operation across applications. To accommodate diverse optical setups, the ML Series can be configured with Brewster-cut, rhomboid, or anti-reflection (AR) coated windows, offering flexibility in system design. With an available mode spacing of 330 kHz - 460 kHz, these mode lockers integrate seamlessly into common laser cavity designs.

AGM-406A3: Acousto-Optic Frequency Shifter

The AGM-406A3 is a high-performance acousto-optic frequency shifter is a Single-Crystal Germanium Acousto-Optic Frequency Shifter (AOFS) that operates at a wavelength of 3.39 μm. It has an optical frequency shift range of 30 MHz - 50 MHz and acoustic velocity of 5.5 mm / μsec. This AOFS has a modulation -3dB bandwidth of 825 kHz and beam separation of 24.7 mrad. It has a Bragg angle of 12.3 mrad and diffraction efficiency of 70%. This AOFS has an RF center frequency of 40 MHz and RF input impedance of 50 Ohms. It has an optical insertion loss of up to 7% and optical power capability of 25 W (full aperture). This AOFS has an active aperture height of 6 mm and optical rise time of 582 nsec (at 5 mm diameter). It requires an RF drive power of 6 W and has a parallel to base laser polarization. This AOFS supports a BNC connector and is available in a package that measures 7.5 (L) cm x 3.3 (W) cm x 3.1 (H) cm.

ADM-40: Acousto-Optic Deflector-Modulator

The ADM-40 is a high-performance Acousto-Optic Deflector that operates at a wavelength of 440 nm - 700 nm. It has a center RF frequency of 40 MHz and deflection RF bandwidth of 20 MHz. This acousto-optic deflector has an optical frequency shift range of 30 MHz - 50 MHz and a diffraction efficiency of 85%. It has a beam separation of 6.5 mrad and an angular deflection of 3.2 mrad (at 633 nm). This acousto-optic deflector has a time-bandwidth product of 100 (full aperture) and an intensity modulation bandwidth of 2.9 MHz (for 1 mm beam diameter) & 4.5 MHz (for 0.65 mm beam diameter). The ADM-40 has an active optical aperture of 2 mm x 20 mm, access time of 252 nsec/mm beam width, and optical rise time of 162 nsec/mm optical beam width. This acousto-optic deflector has a static optical insertion loss of 2 % and an RF drive power of 2 W (at 633 nm). It has an RF impedance of 50 ohms and supports a BNC RF connector. This acousto-optic deflector uses dense flint glass acousto-optic material and is available in a package that measures 74.6 (D) mm x 22.4 (H) mm x 62.5 (W) mm.

FCM-40.8E6CA: Fiber-Pigtailed Acousto-Optic Modulator

Built on IntraAction’s robust FCM series designed for precision fiber-based applications, the FCM-40.8E6CA is an Acousto-Optic Modulator that operates at a wavelength of 1.3 µm. It has an AMTIR-1 chalcogenide glass material with an RF frequency of 40 MHz. This AOM has an RF drive power of 500 mW and insertion loss of less than 1 dB. It has an extinction ratio of 7 dB and a modulation bandwidth of 7.5 MHz (at -3 dB). This AOM has an optical rise time of 60 ns and optical back reflection of -40 dB. It has an input impedance of 50 Ohms and a voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) of 1.2:1. This AOM uses a single-mode fiber with an FC-PC connector and is ideal for intensity modulation and optical frequency shifting applications.

AQS-275A1A: Acousto-Optic Q-Switch

The AQS-275A1A is a high-performance, Fused Silica Acousto-Optic Q-Switch (AOQS) that operates at a wavelength of 1.06 µm. It has a center frequency of 24 MHz & 27.12 MHz and beam separation of 4.3 mrad & 4.8 mrad. This AOQS has an active aperture of 5 mm x 12 mm and a loss efficiency of 40%. It has an optical rise time of 110 nsec/mm optical beam diameter and anti-reflection coating with a reflectance of up to 0.05%. This AOQS has an optical power capability of 500 MW/cm2 and a static optical insertion loss of 0.3%. It has an optimum polarization perpendicular to the mounting surface and input impedance/VSWR of 50 Ohms/1.25. This water-cooled AOQS supports a BNC connector and requires an RF drive power of 12 W or 50 W.
