Broadcom, a global leader in semiconductor and optical communication technologies, has expanded its photonics portfolio on GoPhotonics with a suite of components designed to meet the growing demand for high-performance optical sensing, analysis, and communications. Spanning photon-counting detectors, infrared sensors, miniature spectrometers, indicator LEDs, and fiber-optic transmitters, the new offerings provide system designers with compact, application-ready solutions for industrial, scientific, medical, and consumer platforms.

AFBR-S4P0102L3R Dual-Channel Silicon Photomultiplier

The AFBR-S4P0102L3R is a dual-channel silicon photomultiplier covering the 500 nm - 980 nm spectral range and featuring peak sensitivity at 710 nm. With photon detection efficiencies approaching 30% at 650 nm, an optical gain of 3.4 x 105, and a recharge time constant of only 15 ns, the device is optimized for fast, low-noise photon counting. Its low dark current, minimal optical cross-talk, and low after-pulsing probability enhance measurement fidelity, making it an excellent choice for LiDAR, 3D ranging, robotics, and drone-based navigation systems where precise timing and high sensitivity are paramount.

AFBR-S6PY0574 Single-Channel Pyroelectric Detector

The AFBR-S6PY0574 combines a single channel pyroelectric detector with a narrowband 4.55 µm optical filter and an integrated CMOS amplifier featuring a 10 GOhms feedback resistor. The detector offers high responsivity, low noise, and a wide 100° field of view, enabling selective and reliable infrared measurements. These characteristics make it particularly well suited for flame detection, NDIR gas sensing, medical and automotive gas analysis, food safety instrumentation, THz detection, and compact analytical systems requiring stable, high-sensitivity thermal detection.

HSMF-C144 Right-Angle Bicolor ChipLED

HSMF-C144 integrates yellow-green and red emitters in a right-angle surface-mount package measuring only 3 x 2 x 1 mm. Employing AlInGaP chip technology, the LED delivers high luminous intensity, efficient color mixing, and a wide 120° viewing angle while dissipating less than 72 mW. Its compatibility with automated assembly processes and reflow soldering makes it a practical solution for high-volume manufacturing of backlit displays, status indicators, front panels, home appliances, office equipment, and industrial control systems.

AFBR-S20M2WV Miniature Spectrometer

The AFBR-S20M2WV Qmini spectrometer brings advanced spectral analysis capabilities to portable and embedded platforms. Its compact architecture simplifies integration into handheld instruments and process-monitoring equipment, enabling applications such as color and concentration measurements, material identification, and real-time quality control. By combining a small footprint with the functionality of a full spectrometer, it opens the door to spectroscopy in space-constrained environments.

HFBR-1531Z Fiber-Optic Transmitter

The HFBR-1531Z is a 650 nm fiber-optic transmitter engineered for dependable short-range data communication. Its optical interface provides excellent immunity to electromagnetic interference and galvanic isolation, helping maintain signal integrity in electrically noisy environments. These attributes make it well suited for industrial control systems, factory automation networks, and other applications where robust and reliable optical links are essential.

Together, these additions underscore Broadcom’s commitment to advancing photonics technology and providing designers with a comprehensive set of components for next-generation sensing, analysis, illumination, and optical networking solutions.
