The I-M040-2C8J-3-GH84 from Sintec Optronics is an Amorphous Material Transmitting IR (AMTIR) Acousto-Optic Modulator that operates at a wavelength of 1550 nm. It has a modulation bandwidth of up to 100 MHz and an operating frequency of 40 MHz. This free-space AOM has an active aperture of 2 mm and a rise/fall time of 260 ns/mm. It can be operated by an RF Driver that provides the electronic signal for operation. This AOM has a digital & analogue driver to switch the state of the optical beam rapidly and to vary the output intensity. It is ideal for pre-press (putting image and text data onto films or plates as part of the printing process), laser imaging and displays, switching in telecom fibres, instrumentation, research, beam deflection, frequency shifting of the input beam, modulation, pulse-picking, cavity dumping, Q-switching, and tunable filtering applications.
