The GSENSE4040BSI from Gpixel Inc. is a 16.8 Megapixel CMOS Image Sensor that has a resolution of 4096 (H) × 4096 (V) pixels. It has a rolling shutter in a 3.3" optical format that delivers a frame rate of 24 fps (HDR). This backside illuminated (BSI) CMOS image sensor has a pixel size of 9 μm x 9 μm with a 12-bit ADC that provides a maximum data rate of 10.8 Gbps. It has a dynamic range of 85 dB (intra-scene) and peak quantum efficiency above 90% (at 600 nm). This CMOS image sensor has a photosensitive area of 36.8 mm x 36.8 mm with a full well capacity of 39 ke-.

The GSENSE4040BSI has 18 pairs of LVDS channels running at 600 MHz (per channel) that support full resolution. It has a dark current of 0.04 e-/s/pixel and maximum SNR of 46 dB. This CMOS image sensor can produce mono output and has a temporal noise of 2.3 e-. It requires a DC supply voltage of 1.8 V (digital) & 3.3 V (analog) and consumes up to 1.4 W of power. This CMOS image sensor is available in a 140-pin PGA package that measures 53 mm x 51.5 mm and is ideal for astronomy, high-performance life science & scientific imaging applications.
