The RayViz for Solidworks from Lambda Research Corporation is an Optical Software that facilitates the visualization of light rays and ray paths. It is an add-in tool that allows users to apply and save optical properties directly to the SOLIDWORKS model via the TracePro System Tree within SOLIDWORKS. This software is used for mechanical design and modifying optical material properties. It enables the overall system-level development process by integrating the optical model into both the SOLIDWORKS model and the design team's workflow. 

The RayViz for Solidworks allows users to define and modify optical component geometries, as well as assign optical material and surface properties. It can be saved in either a SOLIDWORKS or TracePro file format. This software mirrors the SOLIDWORKS model in the TracePro model tree once the model is opened, maintaining a consistent design structure. It includes the Healing Husk tool that enables users to check imported geometry and perform analysis, healing, and stitching of imported parts.

The RayViz for Solidworks has additional geometry manipulation capabilities like moving, copying, and Boolean operations further enhancing flexibility. It enables designers to trace rays, optimize optical performance, and perform tolerance analysis using its built in analysis tools. This software allows the analyzed model to be returned to SOLIDWORKS for further modifications to geometry and optical properties, with the updated version archived for continued refinement.
