The EFO-COMB from Avesta Ltd. is an Optical Frequency Comb (OFC) Synthesizer that operates at a fixed center wavelength of 1560 ± 10 nm. It has a comb spacing of 100 MHz with a tuning range of 0.7 MHz. This OFC synthesizer delivers an output power above 5 mW (from each output) and optional powers of greater than 250 mW (at 1560 nm), 200 mW (at 1000 nm - 2200 nm) & 80 mW (at 520 nm -1000 nm). It has full spectral coverage of 520 nm - 2200 nm with an optional beat detection unit.

The EFO-COMB is a turn-key device comprising an Er-doped mode-locked fiber laser. It is designed to be referenced to an RF reference source providing transfer stability of up to 5 x 10-13 (at 1 s) as well as to an optical reference system (down to 1 x 10-16 at 1 s). This OFC synthesizer has a built-in supercontinuum generator and an f-2f interferometer for offset frequency tuning stabilization. It features 4 low-power fiber-coupled outputs around 1560 nm for various applications and connection of various optional features.

The EFO-COMB standard unit is available in a module that measures 356 (L) mm x 492 (W) mm x 110 (H) mm (optical unit) and 640 (W) mm x 553 (L) mm (control rack). This OFC synthesizer is ideal for research & industrial applications, such as atom laser cooling, ultraprecise length measurements, optical clock, LiDARs, astronomy, ultra-stable microwave generators, optical transmission of frequency reference signals & timestamps and infrared spectroscopy.
