The LP980 from Edinburgh Instruments is a Transient Absorption Spectrometer with a spectral range from 200 to 870 nm. It has a dual sample chamber that can measure transient chemical and biological species up to 2.55 mm using the pump-probe technique. The pump-prob technique also helps in measuring transient kinetics (kinetic mode) and time-gated transient spectra (spectral mode), generated by the laser excitation process. It has an internal laser beam adjustment feature for preventing external beam steering and has an integrated ICCD camera that allows transient spectra to be measured within one laser flash. The spectrometer is ideal for applications such as transient absorption, laser-induced fluorescence, and phosphorescence, time-gated spectra (ns, ms, ms time ranges), triplet-triplet annihilation, and reaction rate studies.
