The GMAX2518 from Gpixel Inc is an 18 Megapixel Global Shutter CMOS Image Sensor that has a resolution of 4508 (H) × 4096 (V). It is available in a 1" optical format that delivers a frame rate of 139 fps (at 10 bit) & 64 fps (at 12 bit). This CMOS image sensor has a pixel size of 2.5 µm x 2.5 µm with an on-chip 10-bit/12-bit ADC that provides a data rate of up to 30.72 Gbps. It has a dynamic range of 61.9 dB (at 10 bit) & 66.9 dB (at 12 bit) and quantum efficiency of above 65%. This CMOS image sensor has a photosensitive area of 11.27 x 10.24 mm with a full well capacity of 8ke- and shutter efficiency of 1/10000. It has a dark noise of 1.6 ke- and a dark current of 6.5 e-/p/s.
The GMAX2518 is based on the proven GMAX 2.5 um architecture, operating with true correlated double sampling (CDS) for low read noise and high dynamic range. It has dual light pipe technology that provides excellent PLS and angular response, with 32 pair of sub-LVDS each run at 960 MHz, achieving maximum frame rate. This CMOS image sensor integrates an on-chip sequencer, programmable through SPI, and is designed to be fully pin compatible with GMAX0505, GMAX2509 and GMAX2505 to significantly shorten the time to market for camera manufacturers. It can produce mono & color output, requires a DC supply of 1.8 - 3.3 V and consumes up to 1.2 W of power. This CMOS image sensor is available in a 226 pins LGA package that measures 20.79 mm x 19.49 mm and is ideal for high-resolution industrial inspection, machine vision and Intelligent Traffic System (ITS) applications.
