The SC4500 from Thorlabs Inc. is a Mid-Infrared (MIR) Supercontinuum Source that has a spectral bandwidth of 1.3 μm - 4.5 μm. It delivers an output power of 300 mW - 500 mW (full emission band) and above 110 mW (MIR). This randomly polarised supercontinuum source produces a collimated beam of diameter 5.5 mm and has a repetition rate of 50 MHz. It has a maximum output power stability of ±1 % and an RMS noise intensity of 0.025 %. This single-mode supercontinuum source requires an AC supply voltage of 100 V - 240 V and dissipates a power of up to 700 W.
The SC4500 is available in a robust package that measures 455.2 (L) mm x 403.5 (W) mm x 148.2 (H) mm (laser head) and 431.0 (L) mm x 398.2 (W) mm x 133.1 (H) mm (laser controller). This femtosecond laser-pumped supercontinuum source is ideal for environmental sensing, standoff detection of chemical & biological threats, absorption spectroscopy with high sensitivity, infrared spectromicroscopy, ultrafast spectroscopy, semiconductor inspection, frequency comb spectroscopy, femtosecond pulse generation in the mid-infrared & optical coherence tomography (OCT) applications.
