The PLPVQ 940A from OSRAM is a Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser (VCSEL) that operates from 932 to 948 nm. This pulsed laser delivers a peak output power of up to 0.75 W and has a rise/fall time of 1 ns. It operates over a supply voltage of 1.5 to 2.7 V and consumes up to 0.75 A of current. The device has a parallel and perpendicular beam divergence of 65 and 78 degrees, respectively. This laser is available in a small footprint QFN package with a laser aperture of 10 µm (diameter) x 40 µm (pitch) and is ideal for Access Control (IRIS/Vein Scan, Face Recognition), and Gesture Recognition applications.
